Legacy Assessing Services
Legacy Assessing Services is a full-service company of Assessors who have been working for Michigan Municipalities for over thirty years. We have extensive knowledge of all aspects of Michigan tax law and the working of Township, City, County and State Government. During our many years of working for local Municipalities, we have worked very closely with many government officials and have knowledge of much more than the assessing aspect of local government.
Legacy Assessing has an office located in Genesee County which is open Monday – Thursday. Our office staff has been working for us for many years and is very helpful in assisting our clients.
Our current client list shows that we have very good long standing relationships with the municipalities that we work for. We also have good working relationships with the Counties that our Municipalities are located in.
Meet Our Team
HEATHER MacDERMAID
Owner
Heather MacDermaid (owner) has been a full-time assessor since 1996. She is certified as a Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO). She is and has been the Assessor for many cities and townships and has worked closely with Supervisors and Treasurers of many municipalities. Besides assessing duties, she has helped to prepare and balance tax and special assessment rolls, review land divisions, and assisted many new township board members during their initial terms. She has trained and mentored newly certified Assessors and continues to assist them as needed.
Kevin MacDERMAID
Owner
Kevin MacDermaid (owner) has been a full-time assessor since 2007. He is a Michigan Master Assessing Officer (MMAO). He has been working in the field portion of the assessing process for over 25 years and has done on-site inspections of thousands of properties, including agricultural, residential, commercial and industrial properties. He is currently the Assessor for many cities and townships. He has trained and mentored newly certified Assessors and continues to assist them as needed.
RYAN MacDERMAID
Owner
Ryan MacDermaid (owner) is a Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO) and has been an assessor since 2014. He has been working in the field portion of the assessing process since 2011 and has done on-site inspections of agricultural, residential, commercial and industrial properties.

BECKY LASLEY
Office Manager
Becky Lasley is the office Manager of Legacy Assessing Services. She has been with the Company since 2006. She handles tax payer relations, supervises all data entry and manages all aspects of our full-time office. She is an expert in Apex Sketching Software and BS&A Assessing Software.
